L .J Martin Gittini Batty DtLaauw Nad Huntsman Paulina Schmidt ALL-EXPENSE trips to the 34th National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago, Nov. 27-Dec. 1, have gone to four Utah club members who distinguished themselves in the 1955 National 4-H Dress Revue, Electric, Recreation and Rural Arts, and Tractor award programs. The State 4-H Tractor program pro-gram winner is Marlln Glttlns of Smlthfleld, who has been a 4-H Club member for six years. Ills trip to Chicago Is provided by Utah Oil Refining Company. Through this program, which emphasizes care not repair, Marlin has kept tractor repairs to a minimum. Marlin substituted in driving the tractor for his father who Injured his hand and found that it was a full time job. He has learned to use the tractor for every field Job. He has learned to inspect the tractor periodically, periodic-ally, to service, lubricate and to replace parts when necessary. Marlin Is a member of the True Type Holsteln 4-H Club of Cache county, led by Robert Glttlns and Elizabeth Glttlns. e Betty DeLeeuw, 17, of Blck-nell, Blck-nell, has won state honors in the 4-H Recreation and Rural Arts Program. Leadership and achievement in the program earned her a trip to the Club Congress, provided by United States Rubber Co. Detty, a 4-H'er for seven years, attended and taught crafts at county camp three years, was song leader and Is now president of the Dancing Dandies, and is vice-president of the county council. She took the leading part in her school play and was In the All-State orchestra. His trip Is provided by the Westlnghouse Educational Foundation. Ned has utilized electricity and electrical equipment during the seven years he has been enrolled en-rolled in the project, and has learned new and Improved uses for electrical energy. He is an ardent student of the subject, and won first place in the county and third in the state with his demonstration on how to make and use a trouble light. He has been president of his club three times, as well as serving serv-ing as mayor at camp, e e Pauline Schmidt of West Jordan, Jor-dan, has won the state 4-H Dress Revue award, and will attend the National 4-H Club Congress as the guest of Simplicity Pattern Pat-tern Co., Inc. Miss Schmidt, 19, has been enrolled in the 4-H Clothing program seven years, and this year made the ensemble which won her top honors in the state. Her winning costume is a two-piece two-piece dress of navy blue wool flannel. The middy top features a wide round neck, with con-' trasting guimpe. The slender skirt was styled with pleats at the sides and center. The short navy and white tweed coat has i-length kimono sleeves. Red calf pumps, white gloves and gold earrings complete the costume. cos-tume.
