Show Funeral Services Held for George Henry Gower Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed by Bishop Paul Stokes Tuesday Tues-day in the Cedar Stake House for George Henry Gower, 72, who died Sunday morning, Nov. 13, of a heart attack. Mr. Gower, a life-long resident of Cedar City, was born here on Mar. 5, 188-1, a son of John Thomas Tho-mas and Harriet Corry Gower. On Mar. 3, 1921, he married Alice Jane Perry in Parowan and they have made their home in Cedar City since. He has engaged in farming throughout his life. Surviving are his widow, three sons, and two daughters, Reid and Warren Gower, Cedar City; Clyde Gower, who is attending school in Salt Lake City; Lou Jean Williams, Salt Lake City, and Audree Slack, Las Vegas, Nev. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Mattie Mathews, Cedar City. Speakers at the services were Samuel F. Leigh and J. M. Palmer. Pal-mer. Invocation was by Roger Felt, benediction by W. A. Painter, Paint-er, and the dedicatory prayer by Leo Larson. Prayer at the mortuary mor-tuary before the services was by President Elwood Corry. The musical program included two songs, "Just Beyond," and "Oh, My Father," by a double mixed quartet composed of Hazel Granger, Mrs. Roger Felt, LaRae Guilliford, Esther Jones, Ray Cosslett, Hersrhcl Neeley, Wm. Condie and Roland Wright, and a vocal solo "Lav Mv Head Beneath a Rose," bv Mr. Cosslett, accompanied accom-panied by Beth Leigh. Organ music mu-sic was by Cora Condie. |
