Show Utah Symphony Offers Top Concert Numbers The Utah Symphony will appear ap-pear in Cedar City Friday evening, even-ing, the ninth consecutive year that the symphony has appeared here, and this year because of its appearance in the beautiful new auditorium at College of Southern South-ern Utah, the concert promises to be the most thriUing of any concert con-cert played here. However, moving the concert to the auditorium from the field-house field-house to provide more ideal conditions con-ditions for the concert, will result re-sult in a reduction in seating, which in turn has made it necessary neces-sary to restrict attendance to holders of Music Arts season tickets, tick-ets, and of course, to the students of College of Southern Utah, the high schools and junior high school. I The program to be presented by the symphony on its appearance appear-ance in Cedar City, will be the same as was played in the Symphony's Sym-phony's opening concert of the season in Salt Lake City on Nov. 2, at which Jose Iturbi was guest pianist. Of course, the Cedar Ce-dar concert will be without the appearance of Ilurbi. Instead, Rcid Niblcy, prominent Salt Lake City pianist, will be the soloist for the Cedar City concert, con-cert, lie will play Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2, which should be a rare and pleasant experience for music Jovers of this part of the state. The concert will begin promptly prompt-ly at 8:15 p. m., and those who plan to attend should be in their seats by 8 p. m. |
