Show Karen Slack Recites November Temple Vows With Kerry Ruesch, Springdale, at St. George ! Miss Karen Slack chose Thursday, Thurs-day, Nov. 10, to exchange wedding wed-ding vows with Kerry D. Ruesch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Ruesch of Springdale. Karen is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Slack of Cedar City. The marriage was solemnized in the St. George L D S Temple with President Har-old Har-old S. Snow officiating. Following the ceremony a wedding wed-ding .luncheon was served in honor of the couple at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Bettridge in St. George. A reception was held by the bride's parents on Friday night in the Relief Society rooms in the Second Ward chapel in honor of the newlyweds. Standing as best man for his brother was Keith Ruesch. Ushers were Jerry Slack. Richard Whitney, Whit-ney, Gay Slack, Victor Smith and Dennis Slack. The bride was beautiful in a white gown, the top of chantilly lace with long sleeves coming to a point at the wrist, and a queen ann cojlar. The bouffant skirt was tiered of nylon net edged in satin over bridal satin, It was ballerina length. The fingertip veil was of bride's illusion. She carried a bouquet of white gardenias gar-denias surrounded hy rosebuds. Maid of honor was Joye Mack-en. Mack-en. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Bevin J. Ott of Provo; Mrs. Val Bettridge Bet-tridge of Kanab, Mrs. Doll Slack, Miss Edna Ruesch and Mrs. Keith Ruesch. Junior bridesmaids were Cherrie Lynn Slack and Cor-rine Cor-rine Ruesch. Flower girls were Vanda Marie S.'ack and Joyce Ruesch. The attendants wore ballerina bal-lerina length gowns in yellow and pink, and the f.'ower girls and junior bridesmaids were in pink and blue. The bridesmaids carried nosegays of pink and yellow yel-low chrysanthemums, and the flower girls had in their baskets white gardenias and red rosebuds to match the bride's bouquet. The mother of the groom was in blue crepe, and Mrs. Slack wore a model in cocoa brown French silk. Both had corsages of yellow roses buds. Also in the receiving line were the grandparents of the ,bride, j Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Whitney of' Parowan. I i In charge of the guest register I was Mrs. Lyle Halterman. Host- I esses were Mrs. Leta Cowley and Mrs. Marie Murdock. I Two aunts of the bride, Mrs.' Edith Smith and Mrs. Roma Bettridge Bet-tridge poured and serving girls ' were Yvonne Ogden, Mona Rae Hall and Joan Evans. 1 In the kitchen were Mrs. Viola Bauer, Mrs. Rota Anderson, Mrs. i Amanda Whittekiend, Mrs. Ellen Matheson and Hazel Smith. In the gift room were Ri'.'a Prince and Dawn Nelson. Background music was furnish-, furnish-, ed during the evening by Betty Taylor on the organ. During the evening Mrs. Ruth Cahoon presented xylophone numbers accompanied by Vivian Palmer. Carl and Mary Ann Palmer Pal-mer played a violin duet accompanied accom-panied by their mother, Vivian Palmer, and Janet Wasden played play-ed a piano solo. Laurel Smith 1 sang, as did a quartet composed of Vickie TaylorGlennis Smith, Pam Petty, and Phyl.Ms Crabtree. The lovely floral arrangements were prepared by Betty Taylor and Velda Smith. They used yellow yel-low and pink fall flowers. After a honeymoon the young couple will made their home in Boulder City, Nev. where Kerry has employment. Karen is a graduate of the Cedar Ce-dar High School and has attended attend-ed College of Southern Utah 'where she was affiliated with the Pi Rho Omega. sorority. She was active in L D S Church and received her Silver Gleaner award a few weeks ago. Kerry is a graduate of the Hurricane Hur-ricane High School where he was a popular student. |
