Show Elementary School Principal 'Addresses Kiwanians Oscar J. Hulet, a teacher in j elementary school for 33 years, 24 of them in Cedar City, and the principal of the new North Elementary School, was the principal prin-cipal speaker at the Kiwanis Club meeting Monday evening at Hotel Ho-tel Escalante. President elect McRay Clow-ary, Clow-ary, President Richard Morris, and past president Elwyn Halter-man, Halter-man, also made reports on the Utah-Idaho district training conference con-ference held at Pocatello, Idaho Saturday and Sunday. Rex Harris, Har-ris, newly appointed secretary for the 1955 year, was also in attendance at the conference, but 1 was not present Monday evening. Hulet talked on the problem of education in the elementary schools, recounted the joys, and . a number of interesting happen-1 ings that add to the atmosphere of the schools. He also discussed the somewhat some-what controversial issue of the North Elementary and the facilities facili-ties there. He pointed out that the teaching plant was one of, the best equipped in the nation.' However, he continued, it Is not elaborate, but rather durable. An invitation was also extended extend-ed to the members of the club to attend the dedication of the new building to be held Saturday Satur-day evening, Dec. 11. A group of students from the school, under the direction of Mrs. Lee R. Forsyth, entertained with three musical numbers. Carrying out the training conference con-ference program. of the Kiwanis Clubs, Cloward indicated that a meeting of all newly elected board members and appointed committee chairman for the 1955 year would be held Sunday afternoon af-ternoon at the College of Southern South-ern Utah commons building.
