Show Coach Decker's Rams , Win Victory Over Panguitch High The first practice game of the coming basketball season for the, Parowan High School team was' played on the local floor Wed-j nesday night of this week with i Coach Bruce Decker's Rams tak-, ing the measure of the Panguitch High team by a 49 to 30 score. . Play was pretty ragged on both sides at times, with both coaches ( substituting freely all during the game in order to take a look at what they had on their squads. But there was also a lot of bright spots in the game with a number num-ber of players showing up very well for this early in the season. The first part of the ball game was r.ip and tuck with the Rams holding a 9 to 7 point lead at the end of the initial period, and a 20 to 18 lead at half time. At this point the Parowan advantage advan-tage in height became evident as the Rams pulled away to a 31 to 21 lead at the end of the third quarter, and continued to draw away to a 49 to 30 win. The Parowan team will play two more games this week, one with the Piute County High o:i Friday and with the Richfield High team on Saturday night. Both games will be played here with starting time set at 8 p. m. Next week end the Rams will play Springville on Friday night in the C S U fieldhouse and on Saturday night will play Jordon High of Salt Lake City in the Parowan gym. |
