Show Annual Turkey Show Stresses Gains In Junior Division At the seventh annual Utah Turkey Show at Salt Lake City Dec. 10 and 11. 71 Utah boys and girls will vie for top honors and $U(K) in prizes, according to Gordon Gor-don Neff, show manager. The junior division, which has stepped forward to become perhaps per-haps more significant than the regular open show, offers SHOO in fine gold watches and U. S. Savings Bonds to the 4-11 Club and Future Farmer members whose birds win top honors, said Mr. Neff. Such prizes have been made possible by a unique program pro-gram sponsored by the Utah Turkey Tur-key show. Nearly 3.000 turkey poults were distributed to the 71 boys and girls earlier this year by the Utah Turkey Show at reduced rates, with the understanding that the junior show birds bo selected from them. Money received re-ceived from the poults is being used for the awards and to help support the show. The poults were contributed to the show by the following hatcheries: Childers, Hein's, Ellison's, II. J. Bonnie Adams, Western Co-operative, Moroni and Barlocker. Each first place winner of the four classes of the junior division valued at $150, said Mr. Neff. will be awarded a gold watch However, no more than one watch will be awarded to any one exhibitor. ex-hibitor. U. S. Savings Bonds rang-ing rang-ing from $2f) to $75 will make up the remainder of the prizes. Also there will be suitable trophies tro-phies according to placement of the birds. |
