Show j ENOCH AND MIDVALLEY NEWS Mrs. Hazel Boatty of Ogdcn visited vi-sited her daughter, Mrs. Don Mu-rie Mu-rie and family of Midvalley. People who came from further away than Parowan to the Golden Gold-en wedding celebration for Mr. and Mrs. Owen Matheson, were their son Frank, and wife of Firth, Idaho; another son, Barnard Bar-nard and family and a grandson, grand-son, Gaylen and wife, from Lay-ton; Lay-ton; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Hal-terman Hal-terman and son Conway, from American Fork. All 10 of their children were home. Other people who came to the party were Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Woodard of St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Armstrong Arm-strong of Brigham City, and Mrs. Irvin Stevens of Salt Lake City. About 400 people called on the honored guests during the afternoon. af-ternoon. Bishop and Mrs. Stanley Smith and daughter spent the Thanksgiving Thanks-giving week end in Salt Lake City and Bountiful. They have two sons, Ashton and Udell, living in Salt Lake City and another son, Gordon, living in Bountiful. Miss Aurella Jones, who is attending at-tending the B Y U, came home for the week end. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivor Jones and family fam-ily and Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Jones joined the Ruth Chamberlain Chamber-lain families at the Shyrl Chamberlain Cham-berlain home in Hurricane for Thanksgiving. There were 40 members of the family there. Miss Florene Richardson of Enoch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elton Richardson, was awarded a $300.00 scholarship for her outstanding out-standing safety program. Her award was made at the 33rd National Na-tional 4-H Club Congress being held this week in Chicago. Elvin Murie took six explorers explor-ers and their leader, Dee Wilcken. ! to Newcastle Friday morning where they joined other explorers from the state for a hike over a portion of the Old Spanish Trail. They were met at Veyo Saturday evening. Hunter Grimshaw and family spent Thanksgiving at Parowan with Mrs. Grimshaw's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh L. Adams. Douglas Gilliam was moved ffrom the Iron County hospital to Salt Lake City. His wife went with him. He is convalescing from a gunshot wound he received during deer season. Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Hatch of Kanosh spent Thanksgiving Day with the George D. Grimshaw family here. |
