Show TIIREE3 Utah 4-II Club members were announced as national winners win-ners In the 1955 4-II award programs at the 34th National 4 H Club Congress In Chicago. Each of the winners received a $300 cwllege scholarship. Their names, the programs In which they were honored, and the donors of their awards are: Pattie Sue Brasher, 18, of Huntington; fanning; Kerr 31ass Mfg. Co. Goldle Kester, 19, of Tayson; Health; Kellogg Company. Larry Wood, 20, of Murray; TJQya Agricultural; International Harvester Company. Over 1,200 4-H Club boys and Kirla from the 48 states, Alaoka. Hawaii, Tuerto Itlco, and Canada, attended the Congress, along with young people and youth Inriders from 22 foreign countries. During the week, the delogatos participated in discussions, heard outstanding speakers, met uports stars, enjoyed topflight cHitortr.inment at banquets and major meal events, attended the International Live Stock Exposition Exposi-tion and Horse Show, took part In press conferences, made radio and TV nppearances, toured the city and visited the museums, and attended a party at the Arngon Ilallroom. The theme of the Congress was "Improving Family and Community Commu-nity Living." Among the prominent promi-nent speakers on the program was Or. Preston Uradley, Pastor ot tho Peoples Church of Chicago, Chi-cago, who spoke on "What Youth Can T)o." Othef topics presented and discussed were "Understand-infj "Understand-infj begins With U," and "Work- Patti Brasher Goldie Koster ( V L . i Larry Wood ing Together for World Understanding." Under-standing." Entertainment highlights Included the uppearance of the Purdue University Glee Club and a "Pops Concert" by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The National 411 Club Congress Con-gress la a cooperative effort of the Agricultural Extension Service, fifty public-spirited business busi-ness and civic organizations and Individuals, and the National Committee on Doys and Cirls Club Work. |
