Show Vernon Grimm, 24 Committed To Penal Institution Upon his plea of "guilty" to the charge of breaking into the old hydro-electric rv'ant building in the mouth of Paiowan Canyon a few weeks ago, Vernon Grimm, 21, Cedar City, was sentenced to a term of one to 20 years in the Utah State prison by Judge Will L. Hoyt. The sentence was imposed for a charge of second degree burglary. bur-glary. Grimm pleaded guilty to breaking into the plant building and stripping the copper from the switchboard and other electrical installations in the building which hadn't been moved since the plant was abandoned. It Is estimated that much more damage dam-age was done to ti plant than the copper was worth to Grimm and his accomplices, juveniles, when they tried to se.U it to a Cedar City junk dealer. Grimm was also wanted on a charge of grand larceny in Washington Wash-ington County, but this was dismissed dis-missed upon his conviction in the Iron County court, we understand. |
