Show C of C Members Receive Election Ballots BnJlots have been mailed today to members of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce for the election of officers to fill expired ex-pired terms for the year 1956, according ac-cording to Clarence Miller, president pres-ident and chairman of the nominating nom-inating committee. Heading the list are the candidates candi-dates for president to succeed Miller at the first of the year. Nominated for the helm of the chamber were Elden Ycrgensen, motion picture theatre operator, and William (Bill) Thorley, au-tomobUe au-tomobUe dealer. Other nominations Included: for vice president, Robert Hoy-borne Hoy-borne and Eldon Schmutz; for directors, each to be elected for a two-year term and the organization organi-zation they represent include: labor, Robert Linford, Burns Sher-ratt; Sher-ratt; business, Neal Carter, Thur-mer Thur-mer Jacobs; B P W G'ub, Alta Hunter, Lillian Lunt; Kiwanis, Carlos Taylor and Norman Hea-ton, Hea-ton, and Elks, Kent Carpenter and D. VV. Corry. Results at Banquet Announcement of the results of the mall ballots will be made at the annual New Year's Eve banquet ban-quet to be held at Hotel El Es- calante ballroom. Chairman of the annual banquet and dance is Dean Williams, manager of the Mountain States Telephone Co. office In Cedar City. Holdover board members to I serve with the newly elected' group will be: livestock, Dick Leigh; Rotary, Royce Knight; schools, J. Harry Plummer; Industry, In-dustry, Boyd Paulson; Lions Club, Browning Piatt, and veterans, Eugene Woolf. Outgoing board members who will complete their elective term on Dec. 31 will be Miller as president, pres-ident, and Frank Petty, vice president; pres-ident; Kiwanis, Ivan Orton; F.lks, E. W. Macfarlane; B P W, Flor- enco Cardon; labor, Fred Slack, j and business, Klien Rollo. Ballots were mailed today and members have been asked to return re-turn them prior to Doc. 2'J in order or-der that complete count can bo made prior to the banquet. Ballots Bal-lots arriving in the chamber office of-fice after that time will not be counted, it Is understood. A committee has been at work the past week preparing decorations decora-tions for the hotel ballroom to be used throughout the season and to remain until the Chamber banquet New Year's Eve.
