Show Cedar High Student Reaches Merit Test Semi-Finalist Ranks Dallas Isom, senior student at the Cedar City High School, was notified this week that he has been selected as a seml-finalist In the national Merit Tests and will now compete for scholarships with other students throughout the nation. Seven students of the Cedar City High School, based on the number of students, enrolled, were qualified to take the preliminary pre-liminary examination earjy this fall. As a result of these tests Dallas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Or-vllle Or-vllle Isom, entered the semi-final stage based on the result of the preliminary testing program. Dallas will now enter the final tests to be given In various spots throughout the nation and will be considered for Merit Scholarships Scholar-ships on the outcome of the tests. Approximately 800 students in the U.S. are now competing In the semi-finals, according to Pratt M. Bothers, principal of the local school. Of these, approximately 400 will receive scholarships, he said. Dallas will take the college entrance en-trance aptitude tests in Salt Lake City on Jan. 11, 19;"G, with other semi-finalists in Utah and sur-I sur-I rounding areas.
