Show Cedar City Civic Club Attends Charter Banquet A delegation of 4G Kiwanians and Klwani-Anns of Cedar City-traveled City-traveled to Fillmore, Utah Saturday Satur-day evening, Mar. 6 to attend the charter banquet of the Fillmore Kiwanis Club. Cedar City, the sponsoring organization or-ganization of the Fillmore civic club, went in a body with 24 of the members in attendance. Richard Morris, president of the local group, was praised by the district officials in attendance, for its sponsorship. It was pointed point-ed out that this is the third club which the Cedar City group has sponsored in as many years, and the club has only been organized for three years. Presenting the charter to the Fillmore club, with Thomas A. Whitcott, principal of the Millard High School, as elective president receiving, was LeRoy Olson, governor gov-ernor of the Utah-Idaho District of Kiwanis from Provo. Don Ross of Sunnyside, Utah, lieutenant - governor of the district presided over the affair. Program Provided An outstanding musical program pro-gram was furnished by the Fillmore Fill-more club, including a brass sextet sex-tet from the high school and a flute solo. Additional entertainment entertain-ment on the lighter side was a barber shop "fivetet" from Cedar City. The "fivetet," included Mc-Ray Mc-Ray Cloward, Howard Stokes, Dave Castleton, Walter Lowe, Robert Heyborne, Howard Mace and Ben Riddle. Wm. Burton accompanied. ac-companied. President Morris received a sponsorship ribbon from Hap Me-Cune Me-Cune of Nephl for the efforts of the Cedar City club. Frank Milne of Cedar City was the "man behind be-hind the man behind the wheel" In the organization of the club making the initial contacts to set the organization motion. A delicious meal, served by the Second Ward Relief Society in Fillmire, was enjoyed by the entire en-tire group. Other representatives besides Cedar City and the char- ter members of the Fillmore club were from Provo, Delta, Spanish Fork, Sunnyside, Price and Nephi. |
