Show ;U Male Chorus To Appear Here March 20 One of the outstanding vocal groups in the state, the University Univer-sity of Utah male chorus, will appear in Cedar City at the public pub-lic school auditorium on Tuesday, Tues-day, March 20 at 9 a. m. The prominent 36-voice club is conducted by John Marlowe Niel-son. Niel-son. who is now in his third year as director of the aggregation. The concert is free of charge and the public is invited to attend. Each program on tour will be sneriallv srlprtpd from a rpnpr. Itoire of fine choral music ranging rang-ing from the magnificent Pales-trina, Pales-trina, Handel and Bach to popular pop-ular Kern. Youmans and Romberg. Rom-berg. Special soloists include Kenly W. Whitelock. Myron Campbell. Ronald Read. Glen S. Slight, DeVere Erb, Robert Whit-more Whit-more and Andrew Pratt, vocalists, vocal-ists, and pianists Dortha Sharp and Newel K. Brown. Also featured Is the Chi Omega Ome-ga ladies quartet, winner of the University of Utah Homecoming quartet contest last fall. In addition, ad-dition, the University- Alumni quartet, consisting of Bert Ked-dington, Ked-dington, Hulbert Keddington, Harold Keddington and Kenly W. Whitelock will accompany this year's tour. Prominent in Salt Lake City musical circles, this foursome has sune tonether during and since their university univer-sity days. Members of the male chorus meet in regular campus sessions throughout the year, usually joining the other five U choral groups in presenting a major symphony-choral work such as the Bach St. Matthew Passion each fall. This year's work will also culminate in a formal concert con-cert as part of the famous University Uni-versity Union Building "At Home" series representing all areas of applied music at the university. |
