Show BAC Students Leave For Forensic Meet at Pasadena Eight debate and lorensics students at the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural college left for Pasadena, Calif., Tuesday, to take part in the Pasadena Invitational Speech meet this week. Accompanying the students was Twain Tippetts, speech director at the college. Members of the B 'A C team will take part in debate, discussion, discus-sion, original oratory, extempor-aneous extempor-aneous speaking and impromptu speaking. Trophies are being awarded to first place winners in all individual events, debate and upper and lower division sweepstakes winners. Eight members of the large forensics team at the B A C made the trip, with four teams taking part in the lower division debate at the meet. All eight students will take part in the individual in-dividual events and in panel discussion. dis-cussion. Students making the trip are Donald Jones. David Endsley, Val Clark. Walter Gibson. The debate question for the meet is: Resolved that the non-communist non-communist nations of the world should form a new international organization. Topics for the extemporaneous ex-temporaneous speaking will be derived from the general subject: sub-ject: "The Welfare State '. The meet will include most of the large and small colleges in the west in both upper and lower low-er division works, and furnishes a major spring tournament for schools not belonging to national nation-al forensic organizations. |
