Show State Legionnaires Plan Annual , Birthday Banquet Veterans of all U. S. wars were Invited today by Dave C. Forsey, state commander of the American Ameri-can Legion to attend the Legion's annual birthday banquet and floor show, March 24 in Salt Lake City. Complete ground floor facilities facili-ties of the Newhouse hotel have been contracted by the American Ameri-can Legion. The celebration commemorates com-memorates the 32nd anniversary of the birth of the organization at Paris, France, March 15 to 17. Forsey said that services of Lewis K. Gough, Pasadena, Calif., currently national vice commander comman-der of the American Legion, have been obtained as principal speaker. Caravans of veterans, originating origin-ating in the vicinity of the more than 100 Utah Legion posts, will begin arriving at the Utah capital capi-tal city in mid-afternoon in time for the 6 p. m. reunion hour. The banquet gets under way at 7:30 p. m. with the floor show to follow. General chairman Norman L. Sims and vice chairman Bob Shelby report a top-notch floor show centering around Fielding K. "Smat" Smith, as master of ceremonies. Veterans desiring to attend are urgently requested to make advance ad-vance reservations early for all three features of the extravaganzareunion, extravagan-zareunion, banquet and floor show. |
