Show Parowan Farmers Agree to Try Rainmaking A large ropreention of Parowan Par-owan valley farmer, in a mass meeting last night in the high school auditorium, took steps to join with the rest of Iron county and other counties in southern Utah to try to procure more rainfall for this area. A group, claiming to own a process wherebv precipitation can be increased in an area bv about 50 per cent, has been working with southern Utah counties for seven 1 weeks to interest in-terest farmers an 4 stockmen in trying the new process. Most of the other surrounding counties have signed up and a? now raising the necessary amount of money to participate in the program. pro-gram. Of the above amount the east end of the county is expected to raise approximately $2300. This is to come from Parowan, Para-?onah Para-?onah and Summit farmers and livestockmen. At last night's meeting, which was presided over by E. Ray Lyman, it was voted uninamously to undertake the prolect and Mr. Lyman and Jess Guymon were named to head a committee to raise the funds. These men are to select six other men to act with them to raise the money by Saturday night, March 17. |
