Show Production facility unveiled by CT Film CLEARFIELD Consolidated Thermoplastics Company (CT Film), a leading producer of specialty films headquartered in Schaumburg, III., has unveiled a production facility expanding the company's capabilities to accommodate ac-commodate an expected six percent rise in plastics consumption in the early ear-ly 1990s. The 80,000 square foot facility will be equipped with two cast embossed and six blown film lines with an initial capacity of 40 million pounds per year, primarily extruding polyethylene resin. The Clearfield plant is a fourth CT Film production site, joining the firm's operations in Delaware, Georgia and Wisconsin. "Our Clearfield facility reaffirms that CT Film is committed to investing in new technologies and applications research to provide high-quality specialty films to meet our customers' various needs," says Jack Knott, president, CT Film. CT Film manufactures specialty cast and blown plastic films for the personal per-sonal care, converter, medical, agricultural, horticultural, industrial and specialty markets. The films are produced from a range of resins, including polypropylene, polyethylene and nylon. The total combined production capacity for the four plants is more than 240 million pounds per year. CT Film expects the Clearfield facility to strengthen its position in Western and Midwestern markets and plans to offer additional coextrusion and monolayer production capacity to accommodate accom-modate market demands," said Knott. Future specialty developments by CT Film will emphasize improved strength in packaging, better forming, faster throughput and greater stability stabili-ty while reducing user costs. With more than 40 years' experience, CT Film is ranked among the top ten in total plastic extrusion-related sales in North America. Strengthening the local economy, the Clearfield facility has created approximately ap-proximately 85 jobs for the area. - - - |
