Show Temple Square sets summer hours Square that the 320 singers in the Tabernacle Choir will be on concert tour of Europe and the Soviet Union in June, so the Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus will be performing per-forming in their stead. From June 9 through 30, the symphony and chorus will perform for visitors at the Square at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday in the Tabernacle. The doors will be closed at 9:15 a.m. The Tabernacle Choir will resume its weekly Sunday morning radio and television broadcasts from the Tabernacle on July 7. Features of the Square include the majestic Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; the egg-shaped Tabernacle, which is home to the world renowned Mormon Tabernacle Taber-nacle Choir; the stately old Assembly Hall, site of weekly free musical concerts, plus two visitor centers with a variety of paintings, exhibits, sculptures and other types of presentations about the Church, its history and beliefs. Meanwhile, Harbertson reminds those planning to visit Temple Summer hours for historic Temple Tem-ple Square, Utah's top tourist attraction, attrac-tion, were announced today. Now through Labor Day, Sept. 2, the 10-acre walled-in block in the center of the city will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, according to Robert B. Harbertson, director. Free guided tours begin every ten minutes, Harbertson said, and a half-hour recital on the famous Mormon Tabernacle Organ will be offered Mondays through Saturdays at noon and 2 p.m., and on Sundays at 9 n m rnl v |
