Show Local students win citizenship honors Three senior students from the local high schools have received recognition from the Sego Lily Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Those selected as Good Citizen of the Class of 1991 are Jane Clayton of Bountiful High School, Lara Freebaim of Woods Cross High School and Randy Yellow of View-mont View-mont High School. These students have demonstrated leadership and patriotism to a high degree and have given outstanding service to their schools and communities. While serving as student body vice president and president of the senate of Bountiful High, Jane Clayton spearheaded the student campaigns cam-paigns for Sub-for-Santa and aid to a child in Haiti. She has also served as president of the Utah Association of Student Councils. Last winter, Jane was a page for Sen. Orrin Hatch in the United States Senate. She is a high honor student and participated on the tennis team, Madrigal and A'cappella choirs, the Environmental Club and the Key Club. Jane's parents are Jeff and Marge Clayton. Lara Freebaim was president of the German Club at Woods Cross and a member of the Senate. She has participated in drives for the University of Utah Eye Bank, the Leukemia Society and Sub-for-Santa. She enjoys visiting and performing at rest homes in the area. She was Sterling Scholar in math at Woods Cross and has been a member of the Math Club and Future Business Leaders of America. She plans to continue her education at Brigham Young University. Lara is the daughter of Mark and Cheryl Freebaim. Randy Yellow has given freely of his artistic talents at Viewmont High School and to the community. He served as artist for the senior class, designing tickets, posters, T-shirts and the graduation program. His logo was selected and used by the Shoot Out at Jeremy Ranch, and another logo was designed for the Native American Institute. For four summers Randy has been a participant in the Discovery Program Pro-gram at BYU, where he received training in leadership and pre-college pre-college skills. As a member of the Viewmont wrestling team, Randy won junior varsity championship in his weight and other honors. He also enjoys playing guitar and trumpet. Randy is the son of Jimmy and Elsie Yellow of Monument Valley, Utah and the foster son of Lloyd and Sandra Carr of Bountiful. |
