Show New information director named by Utah Wildlife Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) Director Tim Provan has named Don Paul to head the Information and Education (I&E) section of the state wildlife agency. Paul replaces Rocky Raab, who resigned. He assumed his new position June 3. Announcing the appointment last week, Provan cited Paul's "diverse background and experience, his continuing dedication to the resource and his unique ability to me,sh diverse human interests and needs with the needs of wildlife." "Don brings his professionalism and unique talents to the DWR management team, where he'll be vital in reaching our goal of providing pro-viding for the diverse interests of all wildlife enthusiasts in Utah," said Provan. Prior to his promotion, Paul served serv-ed for three years as a conservation officer in Salt Lake County, for nine years as an I&E specialist in Salt Lake City and later as regional I&E manager in Ogden. For the past 1 1 years, Paul has served as regional non-game manager in the Ogden office. of-fice. According to Paul, the future of wildlife in Utah rests in the hands of the people. "Having been involved with wildlife information and education edu-cation over the years, I recognize that public awareness and interest is essential to healthy wildlife resources and responsible wildlife management. An informed public that is motivated to action is the best defense wildlife has," said Paul. Paul is a 23-year-old veteran with the DWR.
