Show G. Howard receives award FARMINGTON Glen Howard, a professor in the criminal justice department at Weber State University, has won the 1991 Dello G. Dayton Award. The Dayton Award has been presented annually since 1989, in memory of the late Dello G. Dayton, to recognize faculty members who contribute to educational educa-tional excellence at Weber State. Dayton served as a history professor, dean of the school of social sciences and academic vice president at Weber State prior to his death in 1980. Howard was recognized for his efforts to develop a highly respected criminal justice program at Weber State and to assist students in finding meaningful employment after graduation. Howard was chairman of the criminal justice department for 13 of his 18 years on the Weber State faculty. His teaching specialties include criminal justice, abnormal psychology, investigative research methods and community relations. Howard has previously served in various posts for the Western and Pacific Association of Criminal Justice Educators. He is now a member of the Utah Peace Officers Offi-cers and Standards Training Council and Utah Department Depart-ment of Corrections Advisory Council. Prior to joining the Weber State faculty, Howard was research director for the Utah State Government Criminal Justice Planning Agency and a division director direc-tor in the Utah Department of Public Safety. |
