Show i J. Melvin Harrison J. Melvin Harrison, age 84, passed away at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful Boun-tiful March 7, 1991. He was bom Oct. 21, 1906 in Kanesville, Utah, to Joseph J. and Mary L i d i a Burrows Harrison. He married Thelma Jones in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 16, 1930. 1 He graduated from Ogden High School and attend- i - L J ed Weber State College, where he was active and traveled with the drama department. Most of his career was as an executive to the Boy Scouts ' of America. In 1989 he was awarded j scouting's highest honor, The Silver Beaver Award. In his pre-retirement ; years he worked for the U.S. Postal - Service. He was an active member of the : LDS Church in the Bountiful 10th Ward. His service to the church spanned his lifetime. He served in numerous capacities including service in a bishopric. His most cherished service was as a temple worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for 10 years. He enjoyed traveling and loved to dance. Survivors include his wife, Thelma, Bountiful; children and their spouses, James M. and Sandra Har-" Har-" rison; Richard and Bonnie Carter; David I. Harrison, all of Bountiful; eight grandchildren; five great-; great-; grandchildren; one sister, Emma Bunch. Funeral services were held March 11 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary.
