For further information call 298-3446. KAYSVILLE Some people believe the last time they had good self-esteem was when they were infants. Dr. Hanoch McCarty, nationally recognized author, lecturer and teacher, wants to change this perception. His philosophy is, "There is more than enough goodness, lightness, talent, achievement and success to go around. We don't have to compete with each other in order to get the good stuff. There is no limit to the amount of winners we can have. ' Dr. McCarty will be featured at the Second Annual Conference on Enhancing Self-Esteem, sponsored by the Davis County Council on Infants, Children and Youth. The program will be held Thursday, March 21 from 7 until 9 p.m. and Friday, March 22 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the Davis High School cafeteria. The Friday evening program is a general session. There is no charge for this program. Dr. McCarty will discuss the importance of self-esteem and how this will help your child find success in school and in life. The title ti-tle of his presentation is, "Becoming a Partner in Your Child's School Success." Educators and parents will benefit from this hands-on information. Dr. McCarty is a lively, entertaining and practical speaker. He prefers the open, informal setting of a cafeteria to the structured auditorium-style scene. He interacts one-on-one with his audience. The Friday program costs $ 1 3 per person including a $10 workbook and lunch. Besides parents and teachers, concerned citizens, personnel from human service agencies, therapists and counselors, law enforcement and corrections personnel, court personnel and religious leaders would find this workshop beneficial. Inservice credit is available to mental health professionals profes-sionals and teachers who are not receiving career ladder payment for the day and certified teachers not currently under contract. Davis District contract employees who attend the conference and do not receive inservice credit will receive regular pay for the career ladder day. f j I f J I -J' i I 4 I Dr. Hanoch McCarty |
