Show Justice of the Peace Matheson honored by Woods Cross By MARK EDDINGTON Slaff Writer WOODS CROSS A resolution resolu-tion honoring the late Judge Robert T. Matheson for his years of steadfast stead-fast community service has been approved by the Woods Cross City Council. The resolution, read by Mayor David R Wright, Jr. at Tuesday's City Council meeting attended by Matheson's widow, Carole Jean, and other relatives and family friends, acknowledged Matheson as a distinguished citizen. Wright also presented Mrs. Matheson with a plaque in appreciation apprecia-tion of her husband's service on the City Parks Department and City Council, and for his tenure as a Justice Court Judge. "Woods Cross has lost a great friend and public servant, and the many contributions of Robert T. Matheson to the quality of life in our community will long be remembered, re-membered, Wright said, reading from the resolution. After working in the Parks Department, Matheson was elected to the Woods Cross City Council, where he served from January 1968 to December 1971. In January 1974, he was appointed Justice of the Peace, a position he held until his passing on Feb. 16, 1991.
