Show Historical novel writina to be explored or as a profession. Writers help each other through discussions and critiques. The League, a non-profit organization, has been encouraging development of writing skills for 52 years. Gerald N. Lund, author of Pillar of Light will talk about historical novel writing at the Tuesday, March 19, meeting of the Bountiful chapter of the League of Utah Writers. The meeting opens at 7 p.m. at Servus Drug in Bountiful, and invites any published or hope-to-publish writers. There is no charge, according accor-ding to chapter president, Brenda Kehoe. Lund's historical novel, on book shelves now, will be followed by other volumes in The Work and the Glory series. Lund, a popular speaker, has also marketed several other books, including: in-cluding: The Coming of the Lord and One in Thine Hand. He has served as a seminary and institute teacher, an institute director, direc-tor, a curriculum writer and a director direc-tor of college curriculum. He has been a bishop's counselor and is currently a bishop in a Bountiful ward. His educational background includes in-cludes a bachelor of arts degree and a master of arts degree from Brigham Young University, and post-graduate work in New Testament Testa-ment and Hebrew at Pepperdine. League of Utah Writers, Bountiful Boun-tiful chapter meetings are on third Tuesdays, and open to anyone interested in-terested in writing either as a hobby |
