Show Horseshoes underway MESA. ARIZ. The first big horseshoe meet of the year was played in Mesa. Ariz., the home of the 24th annual Valley Of The Sun Horseshoe Tournament, over the week end. There were 184 players from 17 states and Canada participating in the meet. Cedar City's, Dennis Ohms competed in class C. The first day saw Ohm's hopes of winning fade with two early losses. then Ohms staged a comeback with four wins and was one game out of first place and in a five-way tie for second. The second day. Ohms won four more games uhile losing one to finish in soul possession of second place. Ohms posted an 8 win, 3 loss record, pitching 50 percent ringers. Our local horseshoe league will wait until spring, but now is the time to form teams for the Cedar City league. |
