Winner of the District Seven playoffs advance to a 32-team NAIA National Tournament March 8-13 in Kansas City, Missouri. CEDAR CITY - Plans have been made by Southern Utah State College to host one of four first-round NAIA District Seven playoff basketball games; now all the Thunderbirds have to do is earn one of those host positions. "We won't know until Thursday whether or not we will be playing a first round game here, but we have to do the planning just in case," Steve Lunt, SUSC athletic director explains. The District Seven playoff format calls for games at four sites Saturday. Then on March 2 and 3, the remaining four teams gather at the site of the highest rated remaining team to complete a single elimination tourament. Southern Utah will probably be one of the four host teams in the first round. Should SUSC host, these ticket policies have been established (ticket prices are set by the NAIA): Current reserved seat ticket holders will have first option to purchase seats they have held during the year. These tickets will be held until Saturday noon. If they are not purchased by that time by current reserved seat holders, they will go on sale to the public on a first-come-first-served basis. |
