Show PHS girls 3rd in region PAROWAN -Parowan High School's girls basketball team returned home from Region 12 competition last week with a third-place third-place finish, and a berth in the Utah State 1-A Tournament. The Ram women were victorious over Piute in the first round by a score of 54-43. Their second round was not so successful, as they were not playing well and suffered a defeat at the hands of the North Sevier Wolves. They did end the tournament on a good note, however, by defeating a tough Enterprise team. Enterprise had defeated the Rams in league play. Parowan's coach Nanette Cahoon stated that she was "very happy with the way the girls played against Piute and Enterprise but we had a mental block against North Sevier." Scoring for the Rams were Misti Bentley with 99 points for the tournament. Julie Wright did well scoring 9 against Piute, 6 against North Sevier and 13 against Enterprise. Parowan will meet South Summitt in the fiFst round of the state tournament today at 6:30 p.m. |
