Show Kanarraville Mrs. Opal Williams received word that her brother, Keith Pollock of Enterprise, was operated on last week in Salt Lake City lor back surgery. We are happy to report he is home now and doing fine. Scott Berry left this week for Challis, Idaho, where he has employment em-ployment as a guide for the deer hunters. Max and Edna Williams from Provo, Utah, visited briefly with their sister and brother-in-law, Fern and Henry Bauer, brothers and sisters-in-law, Reed and Bernice Williams and ( Ross and Opal Williams. Miss Nancy Bauer from Logan, Utah, spent the weekend here with her parents, Fern and . Henry Bauer, and sister Susan. Randy and Babe Williams and daughter spent the weekend here visiting with their families. They came to show off their new daughter. The ward held a supper at the ward cultural hall Friday evening in honor of Spencer and Herma Truman of St. George who recently moved there. The ward presented the Trumans with a nice book. Mrs. Belle Davis attended at-tended her 50-year class reunion at SUSC Friday evening. Belle reported a most enjoyble time visiting all her friends. Mr. Clair Piatt and his new wife from New Plymouth, Idaho, spent Saturday here with his sister and brother-in-law. Verna and Leonard Davis. Jeffrey, Ellen and Liberty Williams, and Elsie Boltman from Ivins. Utah, spent Saturday through Tuesday here visiting their parents, Chester and Carma Williams and Bert and Roberta Eastman. Ken Clark was elected our new mayor, and Bud Williams and Ronald Williams our two new board members. We congratulate these men on their election. r I fecial ' .. -"''Tit Philip Klingensmith, the first LDS bishop in Cedar City, was inadvertantly left out of the special . section of the Record last week. He made the first bell used in Cedar City to warn the colony of fire, dangers or emergencies. His son, Aldred, was the first w hite boy born in Cedar City's present site. |
