Show 'Safety Week' declared CEDAR CITY - The week of Nov. 15 has been declared "Building Safety Is No Accident Week" in Utah by Governor Scott M. Matheson, and Cedar City Mayor Jack Sawyers has signed a declaration setting aside this same week as a special time for local citizens to better prepare for building safety. As part of the week's activities the City Building Department and Fire Department will be available to inspect any commercial or residential buildings to insure that proper installation in-stallation and safety measures have been met. concern of both departments depart-ments presently involves wood burning stoves; however, all phases of building safety can be inspected. for more information about a building safety inspection one may call either Bob Behunin, City building inspector, at 580-t514, 580-t514, or David Bentley, fire chief at 586-4042. Although Cedar City and Utah have enjoyed an admirable record of building safety, recent national tragedies like the ones in Las Vegas and Kansas City have underscored un-derscored the importance and value of both responsible inspection of structures and responsible respon-sible and capable inspectors.
