"She is the kind of student that makes the freshmen well known and is very deserving of the Redmen Pride Award," said PTSA officials. The sophomore chosen for the Redmen Pride Award is Uarcus Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Adams. She helped with the homecomine float, is Drama Club. She is in Country Fiddlers, the symphony orchestra and Southern Utah Youth Symphony, and is a top student. "Watching shy Andrew Parry walk down the hall, you'd never know he had a special toe. It looks like an ordinary toe in a shoe, but when it is in football cleats, the toe turns to magic. This magical toe won two football games for the Cedar Redmen, by kicking field goals that made the difference," said officials about junior winner Andrew Parry. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Parry and is a junior at Cedar High. Mike Anderson, senior winner, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Anderson. He painted the sign, "Home of the Redmen," is studentbody vice president, has one of the leads in "Oklahoma," sings in the madrigals and also clogs. With all these demands on his time, he still volunteered to play the bass drum lor the band in their field show. "Who is soft spoken, patient, kind and always smiling, even though she has been at the lunch room since 6:30 a.m.? That's our Barbara Williams," said the PTSA in giving the award to this CHS cook. She willingly supervised the senior spaghetti dinner, feeds out of town teams, packs box lunches for the team and caters parties lor school clubs and organizations. CEDAR CITY - Four students and one member of the Cedar High School staff were awarded special recognition for Redmen Pride recently. The Redmen Pride Awards are sponsored by the PTSA. Those receiving awards this month are Lori Messer, Darcus Adams, Andy Parry, Mike Anderson and Barbara Williams. Freshman Lori Messer, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Messer, received the award. She is involved in student government, being secretary of the fresh- busy with music and is actively involved with the |
