Exhibition set for gallery ('El)AK CITY - A special exhibition and sale of original oriental art will be presented at the Hraithwaite Fine Arts (iallery. Southern Utah State College. Friday Irom Hi a.m. to 5 p.m. The special showing will be presented by Marson Ltd. of Baltimore, Md. According to Prof. Thomas A. Leek, SUSC art curator, Marson Ltd. specializes in exhibiting lor sale, a collection of Oriental art totaling approximately HOO pieces from Japan, China, Inida, Tibet and Thailand. The oldest prints date back to the lKth and 19th centuries and include Japanese woodcuts, Indian miniature paintings pain-tings and manuscripts with master works by such artists as lliroshige, Kuniyoshi and Kunisada. The modern pieces consist of a large group of original woodcuts, etchings et-chings lithographs, serigraphs and mezzotints mez-zotints created by such world-renowned contemporaries con-temporaries as Saito, Azechi, Mori, Katsuda and Maki, as well as a varied selection of contemporary Chinese works. A representative of Marson Ltd. will be present to answer questions about the works, artists and the various graphic techniques employed. Original prints are shown in open portfolios in an informal atmosphere at-mosphere and persons are invited to browse through the extensive collection. The price range is wide, and there is a treasure to be found for most everyone's budget," said Leek.
