Show Tennis tourney concludes greatly increased. The courts have been filled constantly since they were built. Two other courts are being built at the new Canyon Park. The Cedar City Tennis Association would like to commend the City Council and School Officials Of-ficials who finally got the wheels rolling and got the new courts built. The biggest tennis tournament ever conducted con-ducted 'in-Cedar City is winding down this week. Over 60 participants entered the tournament in fourteen different categories. With the men's number one seed, Terry Wilson, not entered in this tournament, the first place trophy was up for grabs. Top contenders for the first place position were Phil Adams, Frank Stobbe, Bill Kringlen, Mike Searle and Paul Cahoon. The two making it to the finals were Bill Kringlen and Phil Adams. Adams defeated Kringlen in two straight sets 6-2, 6-3, Adams played good steady tennis against the powerful server, Kringlen. The caliber of tennis in Cedar has greatly improved over the last few years. In womens competition, com-petition, number two seed Linda Hermansen was going after the number one position held by Sandy Taylor. However Hermansen met with an ankle injury early in competition and was ' unable to finish the tournament. Rina Stobbe gave Taylor a difficult match in the finals, going three sets. Taylor defeated Stobbe 3-6, 6-2, 6- Top level competition was exhibited in all events.
