The plan would give Iron County slightly better representation, placing it with Washington, Garfield and Kane counties. ' 1 The Commission's 75-seat plan for the State House of Representatives is shown above. If this plan is adopted, adop-ted, Iron County will be joined with the .Milfoi d and Minersville areas of Reaver County, a logical connection, according to the Commission. The first preference of the Utah Advisory Commission on Reapportionment Reap-portionment for the division of the state into three U.S. congressional districts is shown above. State Senator Ivan Matheson objects to this type of division, saying a line should be more east-west, placing all the southern Utah counties, which have much in common, in the same district. Those who wish to attend may come at their convenience and will have the opportunity to go over the Management Framework Plan and proposals which the environmental statement will address and provide any lnlormation they desire to an attendant BLM employee at the meeting. The Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management, Cedar City District Office is preparing a land use plan and a grazing management environment en-vironment impact statement on BLM administered ad-ministered lands in Beaver, Iron and Washington counties north and west of the Union Pacific right-of-way and between Modena and Enterprise. The BLM has completed com-pleted resource inventories in-ventories and is preparing a land use plan (Management Framework Frame-work Plan). Three public open houses will be conducted for the purpose of- obtaining comments on Management Frame work Plan objectives and recommendations. The public will also be asked to comment on proposed alternatives for analysis in the forthcoming Pinyon Grazing Environmental En-vironmental Impact Statement. The open houses will be as follows: Oct. 27 at the library in Milford, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Oct. 28, at the Community Center in Beryl, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Oct. 29 at the BLM District Office in Cedar City, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interested individuals in-dividuals may attend any of the open houses or send written comments to Arlen Jensen, Area Manager, Bureau of Land Management, 444 South Main, Cedar City, Utah |
