Show Five County AUG Commission votes to join In a meeting devoted generally to several minor items of business, the Iron County Commission Com-mission Tuesday passed a formal resolution which put the County back in the I-'ive County Association of Governments. The possibility of such action was approved at the last Commission meeting, after the commissioners decided more good than harm could come from rejoining the group they had dropped out of six years ago. In other business, Raymond Woodward appeared to protest the County garbage pick-up service. After a brief discussion with the commissioners he agreed to stay with the pick-up service until the first of the year, at which time if he is not satisfied with the service he will again appear before the Commission. Ed Wilhite also appeared ap-peared before the Commission regarding his garbage service, but had a completely different dif-ferent object in mind than that of Woodward. He reviewed for the Commission the amount of time he has been using the County service and offered to pay his past due account of $49. The Commission accepted the payment. Two other letters regarding the County garbage service were also received, and the Commission agreed to hold a special meeting at some future date to hear complaints regarding the service. In other business, Lynn Esplin, the county extension ex-tension agent, appeared before the Commission to protest the County's proposal of hiring an outside contracting service for the County's noxious weed eradication program. The Commission voted to call the County Weed Board into session to discuss the matter. In another matter, County Engineer Ralph Piatt stated that a discrepancy regarding the Woods Ranch boundary had been reviewed and resolved. |
