Show LaYERKIN Pansy L. Hardy Reporter A wedding dance in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Clell Stratton, who were married Oct. 31st in the St. George Temple, was given Saturday. Satur-day. Mrs. Stratton is the former Ruth Hepworth who recently moved mov-ed here from Pioche. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Hepworth. Clell is the youngest son of Mr.' and Mrs. Powell Stratton. Strat-ton. The young couple plan to make their home at Las Vegas for the present. News has been received here that the Misses Hilda and Eleanor Stocks, who have been employed at Cedar City, have both decided to change their names; Hilda has become Mrs. Preston Cory of Cedar City and Eleanor, Mrs. Lor-aine Lor-aine Adams of Parowan. The local D. U. P. meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Mary A. Gubler. A kitchen shower in honor of the former Elko Gubler was held at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Mary A. Gubler on Oct. 30th. Elko is now Mrs. Harold Orton of Ogden. A stake Bee Hive Hallowe'en party was held here last Thursday. Thurs-day. A unique feature of the party was the "Ghost Hall", the girls had to pass through. It held devils, witches, ghosts, dead men, bones an deverything that goes with the tradition of Hallowe'en. Every ward in the stake was represented, rep-resented, and a good time was enjoyed en-joyed by the girls and their mothers. Mr. and Mrs. Harris Merrill and family of Las Vegas and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Harris of Mes-quite Mes-quite were Sunday viitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Hardy. Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Sanders took some of their now famous turkeys to the Ogden Livestock show. A group of young girls enjoyed a Hallowe'en party at the home of Daisy Hardy. During the party they were much disturbed to have two black negroes, two black bears and other ghosts came to visit them. However, the visitors made things all right by telling the girls' fortunes and doingsome jigs for them. A scary good time was had by all. Mrs. Fred Brooks has for her visitor her eldest daughter, Thelma, Thel-ma, and three small daughters, of Salt Lake City. This is the first time since her marriage some seven years ago that Thelma has been at LaVerkin. |
