Gluyas returned early this morning (Thursday) to her home in Taft, Calif., after spending three weeks visiting with her mother, Mrs. Alice B. Bleak, and other relatvies. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Cottam, Mrs. Willard Milne and Miss Carol Cottam accompanied Mr. and Mrs. James Cottom of Veyo, to Phoenix, Phoen-ix, Ariz., last week-end to attend at-tend the graduation of Garth Cottam Cot-tam from a flying cadet to a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army air corps. Mrs. Mary Bentley of Enterprise is a guest this week at the home of her sister, Mrs. Kate B. Empey. Miss Edna Rae Gardner spent the week-end in Delta with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Gardner. Maia Enke, of Riverside, Nev., is a local hospital medical patient since Nov. 3rd. Sfc & Mrs. Ann Sorenson was hostess to the Three-W club members at her home Nov. 5, with Evelyn Snow, Grace Ence and Winnie Prince taking the honors. Mrs. Cal D a 1 1 o n underwent minor surgery at the local hospital, hos-pital, Nov. 2nd, returning home Nov. 3rd. Georgie Colton, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Colton of Mesquite, is a medical patient at the hospital hos-pital since Nov. 1st. Russel Landry, Jay Gardner, Jay King, Shirl Encos and Junior Gardner motored to Delta over the week-end to take part in the pheasant hunt and visit their respective res-pective families. La Von Adams of Hurricane received re-ceived medical care at the local hospital Nov. 3rd to 5th. Andrew N. Winsor entered the hospital Nov. 4th for treatment and observation. Carl Hannig, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Hannig of Pioche, was rushed to the local hospital Nov. 5th for surgery. , Mrs. Gibert Hyatt left last Sunday Sun-day evening for California to visit relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neilson of Bluewater, N.M., were visiting friends in St. George over the week-end. Mrs. Margaret Fitcher and two sons, Cecil and Max McArthur of Los Angeles were guests over the week-end of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Pectol. Mrs. Ted Simmons returned to her home in Preston, Ida., Saturday. Satur-day. Bart Stapley of Parowan was house guest Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Empey. Guests 'of Mrs. Tina Macfarlane Saturday and Sunday were her sister, Mrs. Anges F. Woolley and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton R. Burt of Salt Lake City. Both Mr. and Mrs. Burt were former Washington Washing-ton county school teachers and Mrs. Burt is now associated with the Salt Lake Tribune. Mrs. Wool-ley Wool-ley is the mother of Mrs. Burt, and sister-in-law of Mrs. Ida F. W. McArthur whose funeral services serv-ices they came to attend. Attorney and Mrs. E. J. Pickett, Pick-ett, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pickett, Miss Orpha Morris and Mrs. Nettie Net-tie K. Morris motored to Kingman, King-man, Ariz., and returned last Friday. Fri-day. Mrs. Helen J. Palmer of this city was joined last week-end by her sisters, Mrs. Lydia Palmer of Kanab and Mrs. Emma Heaton of Draper and the three accompanied Mr. and Mrs. David Hymas of Cedar City to California where the three women will visit for ten days with their brothers, Charles and Struan Robertson and their families, while Mr. and Mrs. Hymas spend a few days with their children. Mrs .Elsie Roberts of Thayne, Wyo.', with her sister, Mrs. Barbara Bar-bara Fluckinger and niece, Elise Fluckinger of Bedford, Wyo., were St. George visitors Tuesday, en-ruote en-ruote to Mesa, Ariz., where Mrs. Roberts will spent the winter. The two older women were Swiss converts con-verts of the L. D. S. church and were interested in their visit to the Temple bureau and the Memorial Me-morial hall. William D. C. Morrison of Monroe, Mon-roe, Utah, is visiting this week with his sister, Mrs. Mary J. Drake. Mrs. Charles Barnum spent last week in Las Vegas and Boulder City visiting relatives. Her niece, Miss Sylvia Hughes, of Mesquite returned with her to visit over Saturday and Sunday. Guests over Wednesday of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hall of Washington were Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Math-eney Math-eney of Kooskia, Ida., who made the side trip just to visit these former friends while enroute to Missouri and spent the day taking tak-ing them to the various points of interest in this vicinity. Mr. Math-eney Math-eney is a telegrapher. Frank Sylvester of Salt Lake City visited St. George relatives over last week-end, having been in this area for the deer hunt. The Bridge Ettes met at the home of Mrs. Andrew McArthur who was hostess for the club on Wednesday. Mrs. Willard Milne won first place honors, while Mrs. Elmer Harmon was awarded second sec-ond place. Mrs. R. N. Ashby left Sunday morning for Salt Lake City upon receiving word of the serious illness ill-ness of her mother. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. W. McAllister over Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Willard Andelin of Chicago Chi-cago and their protege, Miss Dorothy Dor-othy Dawn, who are returning from their extended Hollywood visit in the interest of the latter's screen tests and auditions. The trio appeared in concert in Hurricane Hurri-cane Monday evening, Nov. 3. Irvin Carter of Salt Lake City is spending the week in St. George visiting and on business. |
