Show Ida F. Woolley McArthur Brought Here For Services and Burial Bishop Andrew McArthur of the St. George South ward conducted the funeral services held in the stake Taebrnacle at 4:15 p.m., Saturday for Ida F. Woolley McArthur, Mc-Arthur, 81, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence C. Snow, in Salt Lake City early Tuesday morning of anemia. She was the widow of Edwin Meeks McArthur, who died in St. George in 1915. Music numbers for the program included a vocal solo, "O, My Father", Adrene McArthur Cot-tarn, Cot-tarn, accompanied by Mrs. Ada Cannon; violin solo, "The End of A Perfect Day", Mrs. Vera Christensen; vocal trio, "Whispering "Whisper-ing Hope", Viola Gentry, Mamie Paxman and Melba Baker, with Mrs. Nemmie Pearce accompany-( accompany-( Continued on page five) Ida McArthur Funeral (Continued from first page) ing; and vocal solo, "Going Home" by Vernon Worthen, with Mrs. Ada Cannon at the piano. 1 Speakers were Pres. Both had been long acquaintances with the family and with the life of Mrs. McArthur and spoke feelingly feel-ingly of her years of service to her family and to her church, of her quiet gentility, her personal charm, and her faithfulness to her husbarfd, her family and her re-legion. re-legion. Both related incidents of their association and praised the large family of the deceased for their accomplishments. Prayers were by George E. Miles and W. O. Bentley. The grave in the St. George city cemetery ceme-tery was dedicated by James McArthur, Mc-Arthur, brother-in-law of Mrs. McArthur. Before bringing Mrs. McArthur's body to St. George for burial, brief services were held in Salt Lake City at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Snow, where her many friends in that locality joined in paying tribute to her as a woman of culture, thrift and charm. Here to attend the services from out of town were Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence Snow and daughter, daugh-ter, Phyllis and son, Wayne; Dr. and Mrs. D. D. McArthur and son, Arthur, and daughter. Maurine; Mr. and Mrs. June McArthur and son, Robert; and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McArthur, all of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley McArthur Mc-Arthur and son, Donald and wife, of Park City; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jos-eph Woodbury and daughters, Ida and Beatrice, and sons, Howard and - J. Romney Woodbury, of Fresno, Calif.; and two sons of Ezra McArthur, Cecil and Max McArthur, and their mother, Mrs. Margaret Fitcher, of Los Angeles. |
