Show MESQUITE, Nev. Mrs. Daisy L. Reber Reporter Miss Naomi Fordham was guest of honor at a shower Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Mildred Hunt at Bunkerville. Mrs. Leah Tobler and Mrs. Louise Tob-ler Tob-ler assisted Mrs. Hunt. The guest of honor was presented with a beautiful dinner set and linen. Refreshments were served to the 25 guests participating. The Virgin Valley P.-T.A. held its monthly meeting Thursday evening in Mesquite. Students in the first three grades under the direction of Miss Naomi Fordham presented the pantomime on the song, "National Unity". Piano solos by Dale Frehner and Leila Hardy were presented, and Supt. Paul Thurston discussed the local school finance problem. A nomination nomin-ation committee was elected to nominate possible candidates for officers to be elected in the April meeting. A. N. Woodbury is confined to his bed due to an acute illness. Mrs. Searle Granger and baby boy have returned from the Las Vegas hospital. Mrs. Parley Leavitt is in Las Vegas with her husband and son, Edward, who are in the hospital there. i Mesquite ward Relief Society held special tree planting services at their meeting Tuesday commemorating com-memorating the centennial anniversary. anni-versary. Several local people motored to St. George Sunday to attend the trousseau tea given by Miss Naomi Fordham. Mrs. Estella Hafen is teaching school this week while Miss Fordham Ford-ham is on leave of absence. A group of local men met Sunday Sun-day to discuss the advisability of forming a cooperative dairy institution insti-tution here. Mrs. Sarah Ann Hughes is recovering re-covering from an acute illness. Earlin Tobler and daughter, Alma Jean, who were both taken to the McGregor hospital in St. George with pneumonia, are back home and their conditions are reported re-ported as convalescing satisfactorily. |
