Show Intensive Savings Stamp and Bond Sale Campaign Planned Here People To Be Urged To Institute Regular Savings Plan Says Keber Plans for an intensive campaign for the sale of Savings Stamps and Bonds were announced here this week by Glenn E. Snow, general gen-eral chairman of the county organization. org-anization. Boards are being set up in each community in the county under community chairmen chair-men and these towns in turn are under the chairmanship of a member mem-ber of the county organization. A statement by Mr. Snow is published pub-lished elsewhere in this issue regarding re-garding the program which it is expected will be put through in this county. Plan of Entire Nation . R. M. Reber, secretary and p'ub licity director for the board, states that a similar plan has been work--x ed out for the entire nation and has been put into effect in many states of the Union. It is anticipated antici-pated at this time that the campaign cam-paign will get underway on April 1st. "Every family in the county will be contacted and asked to sign a pledge stating the amount that it will set aside each week or month for the purchase of Stamps or Bonds. No attempt will be made to high-pressure people into buying more than they are able to buy, but each family will be urged to take part in this nation-wide campaign to beat the Axis. "While every effort will be made to secure wholehearted cooperation coopera-tion of every citizen, it is not the plan to force purchase of Stamps or Bonds. This drive is being made to encourage systematic saving which will help the nation win the war and which will provide pro-vide a savings for the families and individuals to fall back upon if hard times come after the war. It is hoped to give every American Ameri-can a sense of direct participation (Continued on page eight) Stamp-Bond-Campaign (Continued from first page) in the financing of national defense, de-fense, at the same time a rock-solid rock-solid investment for his own future", fu-ture", declares Mr. Reber.
