Show Littlefield To Purchase Bond For Each of Its Youths Entering Armed Services A unique plan for the purchase of Bonds was put into effect by the citizens of Littlefield. According Ac-cording to Mrs. Russell C. Prunty. assistant postmaster. Littlefield plans to buy a Bond for each of their boys who enter the United States Army or Navy. Following is the letter received j from Mrs. Prunty in which she j explains the plan: Dear Editor: j The town of Littlefield has aj plan to buy a Bond for each of our brave boys who enter the j service of the Army or Navy of j the U.S.A. We think that if you! will give a little free advertising! to the plan other small communities communi-ties will be glad to adopt it to show their pride and appreciation of heir herioc sons. The head of each family or in most cases as it has worked out here, both parents sign a pledge to buy a ten-cent War Stamp for jeach boy of our town in the i service every month. A Stamp I B.ok is dedicated to each boy and j hung in the post office beside his picture. The Stamp Book will j soon grow to be a U. S. Bond presented by the town of Little-! Little-! field to each. This plan costs so jlitle. any community may use it. 'Littlefield already has three boys I in training and more will follow. |
