Show DIXIE GROUP ASKS STATE WATER SURVEY j A delegation of St. George citizens waited on State Engineer George M. Bacon Friday to urge early investigation investiga-tion into the possibilities for storage of water on the Santa Clara to augment existing irrigation supplies. Included in the party were Edward H. Snow, chairman of the state board of equalization, Jospeh K. Nicholes, William O. Bentley of St. George and E. R. Frei of Santa Clara. The visitors declared that a reservoir site could be obtained about 13 miles up the river from St. George where it was estimated between 5.000 and 6,000 acre feet of water could be impounded by a dam structure 80 to 90 feet high and from 225 to 600 feet wide. They urged that the matter be presented pre-sented to the water storage commission commis-sion with a view to having an investigation investi-gation made to determine its feasibility-It was agreed that a formal application appli-cation will be made to the engineer as secretary of the commission and it would then be given consideration.
