Show PANACA ! Panaca, April 9. Last Friday afternoon after-noon the Relief Society officers and members gave a surprise party and a handkerchief shower to Mrs. Wm. Butler, But-ler, president of the organization, who with members of her family will leave this week for Reno, where they expect to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pace, Lawrence Pace and Paul Quackenbush motored from Caliente Sunday and spent the afternoon with relatives here. N. J. and Gene Wadsworth returned last week from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Elmer Edwards and mother of Los Angeles visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Edwards. Mrs. Jane Lee returned home last week after a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Maggie Todd at San Bernardino, Calif. Philip Mathews and daughter Afton left Saturday to visit relatives at Good Springs, Nevada. It is hoped the change will benefit Mr. Mathews who has been ill for several months suffering suffer-ing from rheumatism. The junior prom which was held last Friday night was a grand success. Many people of the county attended. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Wadsworth spent the week end here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Wadsworth. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Lee entertained entertain-ed on Wednesday evening of last week in honor of Mrs. Wm. Butler and family. Mrs. Chris Ronnow has been ill for several days. Mrs. B. F. Wadsworth spent a few days last week at St. George, where she went with her son Clifford, who was married to Miss Grace Terry of Enterprise, Utah. Willard Mathews arrived ' home Monday after 26 months spent in the mission field in Nova Scotia and Canada. Can-ada. Mrs. David Keele is in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Belle Keele visited with her daughter, Mrs. Harold Clapham at Las Vegas, last week. Mrs. Mamie Campbell of Pioche visited at Panaca Sunday. |
