Show Outstanding award presented by Chamber Brent A. Feltch was presented the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce "Outstanding Public Service Award" for the fourth quarter of 1981 Tuesday at the Chamber luncheon meeting. Alan White, who has worked with Feltch in sports broadcasting and is a good friend, made the presentation. Feltch received a framed certificate naming him as receiving the award. Feltch has a life-long history of community service. He served as state chairman of the Jaycee organization, as Uintah County chairman of the March of Dimes and as President of the Uintah Basin Junior Livestock Show. He was trustee of the Maeser Town Board. While living in New Zealand, Feltch served on the Board of Education in the school system there. He has been involved in-volved as an instructor and as a referee in many athletic programs In the Vernal area. He also served as a state delegate to the state Republican con- vention and as Uintah County chairman of the Republican party. He is the immediate past president of the Vernal Chamber of Commerce. Feltch is active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in numerous church positions including stake clerk, stake mutual president, high councilman and as a counselor to seven bishops and branch presidents. He now serves as Varsity Scout leader in Maeser Second Ward. Feltch's employment background is varied. He was an announcer and newsman at radio station KVEL prior to moving overseas. Then he was employed by the LDS church as plantation and farm manager for eight years in the Tongan Islands and in New Zealand. He is now self employed and also serves as a Uintah County Justice of the Peace. He is married to the former Carol Poelman. They have six children and nine grandchildren. |
