Show Uintah loses to Tooele The Uintah Utes' junior varsity team was down by 24 points, but they scored 18 points in four minutes and cut Tooele's lead to six points. However, Tooele held on to win the game in Tooele Friday, 84 to 73. Uintah's sophomore team was also defeated by Tooele. Tooele had a four-point lead of 15 to 11 at the end of the first quarter, and had a 39 to 25 lead after two quarters. Tooele bombed Uintah, 24 to 14 for a third quarter lead of 63 to 39. Uintah smashed Tooele in the fourth quarter, 34 to 21. The top scorer in the game was Uintah's Dave Emery at 29 points. Emery hit ten field goals and was 9 for 9 from the foul line. Mike Johnson fired in 14 points, and Dave Allen scored 13 counters. Also scoring for Uintah were: Gary Galley, 6; Roger Walker, 6; Devin Wright, 4 and Scott Peterson, Peter-son, 1. Uintah hit 28 out of 52 field goal attempts, and put in 17 out of 21 free throws for 80 percent. The number one point gainer for Tooele was Herrera at 27 counters. He flipped in 13 field goals and put in one free throw. Sorensen popped in 18 points and Marchester scored 16 points. |
