Sowards bulk plant on North Vernal Ave. City entertains bulk gas plant complaints The Vernal City Council gave the H.S. Sowards and Sons bulk plant 30 days to live up to the ordinances of Vernal City. In the Jan. 19 meeting, the council listened to complaints of noise, smoke and bad odor coming from the bulk plant on North Vernal Avenue. Lloyd Eaton said the bulk plant has done nothing about the problem since they promised to iastall a retainer wall and move their tanks to another site last summer. In other business the council signed a sewer agreement between the Ashley Valley Water and Sewer District and Maeser to govern their actions during the building of a joint sewer treatment plant. The city also gave Gaylon Cook their okay to deposit half of his water bill in a trust account pending a Ban Between the city and Cook for high water rates outside the city. They also moved to turn his water back on. |
