Miniature truck takes second at auto show It looks like a 1950 International Mi-ton Mi-ton truck in every one but one it's only about eight feet long and under four feet tall. The miniature green-colored truck, constructed by Ted Slaugh of Vernal, took second place in its class at an auto show in the Salt Palace, Salt Lake City, last week. Slaugh spent over a year cutting and welding the chassis of an original 1950 pickup to form the body for the miniaturized version. Slaugh also aia the painting, custom work, and constructed the all-metal hub caps and bumpers. The tiny truck's body is made from all original parts and is street legal. The plush interior is upolstered with black leather and velvet by G.H. Slaugh. The truck is powered by a 440 Ski Doo snowmobile engine with a four-speed transmission and Cushman rear end. The little truck received a lot of attention at-tention at the auto fair, Slaugh said. "There was always a crowd around it." Slaugh received a trophy for taking second in his class. He is a mechanic for Dalbo in Vernal. . .1 |
