The Ashley Valley Water and Sewer Improvement District opened bids on the two projects last month. Low bidder on the water line was Western Utility at about $28,000 and Plumber Supply at $130,000 for the materials. Low bidder at about $198,000 on the Asphalt Ridge Tank was Clegg Construction, Provo, the same company who installed the Tridell treatment plant. According to Lyle McKeachnie, district chairman, lines will be connected con-nected to the Davis Water tank next summer. "If the weather holds the contractor expects to have the water line in in 30 days," McKeachnie said about the first schedule of the project. Clegg Construction has 100 days to complete the Asphalt Tank, but mav be stopped before then because of the weather. The district has sold $600,000 in water bans, bond anticipation notes, to Zions Bank which will be sold over a 5-year period. The district is also seeking grant money from FHA and Water and Power Resources. The district has also petitioned the Uintah Water Conservancy District for 12,000 acre feet of water per annum from the Jensen Unit of the Central Utah Project. The district contemplates con-templates it will take delivery of the water at the Red Fleet Dam outlet. Presently Vernal City has already subscribed for 12,000 acre feet of Red Fleet water. According to Uintah Conservancy Con-servancy District officials, all the water from Red Fleet is already contracted. |
