Adams dies near Heber in auto accident Beloved husband, father and grandfather, grand-father, Wilford Adams, 70, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1980, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Heber, Utah. Born May 22, 1910 in Vernal to Daniel Arza and Marie Annie Gillespie Adams. He married Glenna Marshall Nov. 30, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He owned and operated Adams Jewelry in Midvale, Utah and Vernal, Utah from 1944 to 1976. He served in many leadership positions in the LDS church; YMIA president, high councilor, president of Elders Quorum, Bishop of the Sandy 4th Ward, Bishop's Councilor, Coun-cilor, presently associate librarian of Springville, Missouri Branch Genealogical Library and former director of. the Vernal Chamber of Commerce and director of the Utah Motel Association. Funeral services were in the Vernal 6th Ward Chapel, Dec. 1. Bishop Marland Stage conducted. Calvin W. Adams, son, gave the family prayer. Following a duet by Danna Dee Smith and Keith Adams, Lawrence Adams, brother, gave the invocation. Bishop Stagg gave some remaks and Argene Adams Jorgensen played a violin solo. Carol Adams accompanied by Ann Adams, granddaughters, sang a solo. Bishop Jerry Jorgensen spoke followed by a trio. Jay, Brad and Terry Anderson. Patriarch Reed W. Anderson spoke and a quartet, Danna Dee Smith, Amber Tebbs, Keith Adams .and Max Adams,, sang. Arza Adams gave the benediction. benedic-tion. Pallbearers were Scott Adams, Bryce Jorgensen, Merrill Adams, Terry Adams, Mike Adams, Dan Thacker, Herb Goldhardt and Don K. Hyatt, Burial was in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery. Dale G. Adams, son. dedicated the grave. Survivors: wife of Willard, Mo., former resident of Vernal; three children, Dale G. Adams, Walnut Grove. Missouri; Mrs. Gerald (Argene) Jorgensen, Sandy; Calvin W. Adams, Vernal; thirteen grandchildren; grand-children; four great grandchildren; brothers, Arza G. Adams, Densel Adams, Lawrence Adams; sister, Mrs. LaMar (Maude) Thacker, Mrs. Arthur (Georganna) Curtis, all of Vernal; Mrs. Warren (Edna) Jones, of Fountain Green, Utah. |
